Public continues to raise opposition to landfill proposalPosted Jun 3, 2010 BY DAVID JOHNSTON EMC News -A community report presented Thursday to Waste Management's Project Advisory Committee indicates rising public opposition to the proposal to develop more landfill at the Carp Road site. Marlene Labelle, a Stittsville resident who was active in a move to quash a similar expansion proposal four years ago, is reporting to the committee as the delegate for nearby Stittsville. "My role is to get feedback from the community," said Labelle. "I sent out a survey to my own circle of neighbours, and they all said 'no' to more landfill."
