O’Brien vows city will continue ‘war’ on landfills

Mayor Larry O’Brien vowed Thursday to fight the proposed expansion of the Carp Road dump.

“I want to make sure that the citizens of this city understand that their city, their municipality, their city government will be fighting hard against the expansion of the Carp landfill. Period. Stop,” O’Brien said in a speech marking Earth Day.

“We started a war on landfills, and we will continue that war on landfills.” ...
